The Ever Queen: The Ever Seas, Book 2

Welcome to the conclusion of the tantalizing romance of Erik and Livia.

The Songbird

Captive. Challenger. Queen.

Enemies took her from the man who held her heart. They might see her as weak, as a pawn in wicked games, but they’re no match for the first Ever Queen.

Let them think they’ve won. Her heart belongs to a beautiful monster, and she will never stop fighting until she’s back in his arms.

The Serpent

Captor. Villain. King.

His enemies stole the woman who claimed his soul. They betrayed him out of greed and desire for the crown, but they won’t die for that betrayal. No. They’ll die for touching her.

His heart belongs to a stunning little bird. He will never stop searching for her light across the skies. Not until the blood of his enemies spills at her feet, and his queen wears their bones around her neck.

Welcome back to the world of the Ever Kingdom where pirates collide with Vikings in passionate romance, brutal battles, and an unforgettable dark fantasy world. This book concludes the love story between Erik and Livia, but new, standalone romances with other favorite characters will continue to build the world.

The Saga of Hjalmther and Olvir (Viking Legendary Sagas Book 22)

The Saga of Hjalmther and Olvir differs from the majority of legendary sagas in that it has no connection with Norse history, real or legendary. Its settings include the mysterious Mannheim, which may represent Sweden, but seems in fact to be nowhere on any maps, while mention is made of exotic locations such as Syria and Arabia, Greece and ‘Serkland’, but when they appear in the story there is nothing to characterise them as real world countries. In many ways the saga is closer to the so-called sagas of the knights, in which continental chivalric romances were either translated or used for inspiration for fantastic adventures of heroes in the Arthurian or Carolingian mould.

Something else that is unusual is the way in which the two eponymous characters, conventional ‘buddy’ heroes reminiscent of the protagonists of The Saga of Egil Onehand and Asmund Berserkerbane, or The Saga of Bosi and Herraud, are side-lined by the thrall Hord—although the story contains a twist that explains this apparent anomaly.
At the heart of the narrative is a Potiphar’s wife motif, with Luda, a young stepmother, offering herself to her stepson, Hjalmther, and gaining her revenge when he rebuffs her by casting a spell that initiates a complex series of adventures in the weirder parts of the world as Hjalmther seeks the princess Hervor. With the aid of Olvir and the ‘cunning slave’ Hord, he survives many weird encounters with trolls and giants, wizard kings, monstrous oxen and blue men, until eventually a mystery is solved that has the thrall Hord and certain of the apparent monsters at its heart. Due to the nature of these transformations, the saga has been compared with the Northumbrian ballad The Laidley Worm.

A different version of the story is available in the Hjalmthers rima, a ballad relating the adventures of the same character.

The Saga of Thorstein Vikingsson (Viking Legendary Sagas Book 11)

The Saga of Thorstein Vikingsson is a complex tale of adventure, spiced with sorcery, trollish opponents and dwarfish helpers, of curses and magical swords, of Viking raiding and romantic love matches. A long and somewhat rambling work of thrills, spills and adventures comparable to a 1930s movie serial, it acts as a prequel for the more renowned Saga of Fridthjof the Bold. It begins, like many such sagas, in a mythological landscape leavened with a scattering of euhemerisation to keep the priests happy, but rather than featuring gods like Odin the main characters in the first chapter are giants. From them comes a heroic stock whose adventures and feuds we follow through two generations. The saga is most notable both for its fairly realistic portrayal of vikings going about their business of plundering, warring, and fighting other vikings, and its detailed accounts of the occult beliefs of the pagan Northmen. Spells for breaking free of fetters, dream interpretation, guardian spirits, berserk frenzies, magical potions, curses, trolls and dwarves, magic swords and a talking ship, Ellidi, which also features in the Saga of Fridthjof, all this and more appear. The saga as a whole is comparable with one of the more extravagant chivalric romances popular on the Continent in the Middle Ages, or the heroic fantasy of modern bookshelves.
